Oncological care in the tumor center – The best treatment and care for patients and their relatives: that is their goal. They look after you in all phases of the disease – they have specialist and oncological specialist nurses working for them.

In addition to the “classic” procedures in cancer medicine such as surgery, drug based cancer therapy and radiation therapy,  Inselspital offers all modern therapy procedures in cancer medicine. Modern therapies such as new surgical therapies, targeted therapies, antibody therapies, immunotherapies, cellular therapies, transplants, precise radiation therapies such as IMRT, SBRT, Cyberknife as well as new nuclear medicine therapies – Theragnostics – are used at the Inselspital for a variety of cancer diseases.

The radiation treatments are carried out in the premises of the University Clinic for Radio-Oncology at Inselspital. State-of-the-art equipment and a wide range of radiotherapy procedures and highly specialized services (stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy) for the treatment of cancer are available here.

Surgical removal of cancer remains at the center of many cancer therapies. Surgery has made enormous progress in recent years. Many cancers can now be removed with minimally invasive surgery or with the help of surgical robots. For those affected, this means faster recovery and better body functions.
