About Us

Overview – Founded in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge research.

Every year, thousands of people with cancer from around the world come to Dana-Farber for their care.

All their clinicians – radiologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and nursing staff – have deep experience treating your particular type of cancer. Their multidisciplinary team approach to cancer care ensures that you will receive the combination of treatments that is best for you.

Since 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been providing expert cancer care and groundbreaking treatments for adult and pediatric patients. U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks Dana-Farber as the #1 cancer hospital in New England, and among the best in the nation. As a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, they recruit some of the world’s best and brightest physicians and researchers. And partner with two of the world’s highest ranked hospitals – Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital – to provide complete and integrated care for adult patients and pediatric patients.

Treatment Centers and Clinical Services – They care for adults and children with cancer in specialized treatment centers, focused on specific cancer types. Their teams of specialists work closely together to offer patients the latest therapies and clinical services, including access to innovative clinical trials.

Cancer Care and Treatment for Adults – Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center combines the focus of a leading cancer center and the resources of a major hospital to provide comprehensive care for adults with cancer.

Outpatient care takes place at various locations around Dana-Farber’s Longwood campus, and inpatient care takes place either at Brigham and Women’s Hospital or at Dana-Farber’s Inpatient Hospital located within Brigham and Women’s Hospital. These buildings are connected by bridges.

Cancer Care and Treatment for Children –  Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, an integrated pediatric oncology program through Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital, provides — in one specialized program — all the services of both a leading cancer center and a pediatric hospital. The focus is solely on the diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer, and providing care for young cancer survivors.
